On June 17 and 18, Ineris participated in the annual meeting of CEN TC 264 Air Quality in Düsseldorf (Germany), organised by the VDI (German organization responsible for publishing standards).

CEN TC 264 is responsible for the standardisation of methods for characterising the air quality of emissions, ambient air, indoor air, gases in and from the soil and deposits, in particular methods for measuring air pollutants (e.g. particles, gases, odours, micro-organisms), meteorological parameters and methods for determining the efficiency of gas cleaning systems.

Ineris contributes to the work done by CEN TC 264 in various aspects during the characterisation of atmospheric emissions and ambient air (via the LCSQA*). The annual meeting provides an opportunity to review ongoing work and current topics. The most recent meeting was an opportunity to share information on recent progress related to the regulation and standardisation of methods for characterising PFAS atmospheric emissions in France.

(*) Designated by the Ministry of the Environment, the Central laboratory for the monitoring and air quality (LCSQA - Laboratoire central de surveillance de la qualité de l'air) is the standards body that ensures the technical coordination of the air quality monitoring system in France. Since 1991, IMT Nord Europe, the National Institute for Industrial Environment and Risks (Ineris - l’Institut National de l'Environnement Industriel et des Risques), and the National Metrology and Testing Laboratory (LNE - Laboratoire National de métrologie et d’Essais) have been collaborating to ensure the technical coordination of the air quality monitoring system in France.
