Chemicals: tell us what you want!

Better information about the chemicals present in everyday items (toys, shoes, clothes, electronic devices, furniture, etc.) concerns everyone, and lies at the heart of LIFE AskREACH. The objective of this European project is to provide information to consumers about the chemicals present in items. To achieve this, the intention is to release a smartphone application to which everyone can contribute by replying to two online surveys.

The general objective of LIFE AskREACH is to improve the replacement of substances of very high concern (SVHCs) in items by increasing market demand for SVHC-free articles and helping manufacturers to identify SVHCs in their products.
The project, which brings together 20 partners from 13 European countries, aims to:
•             raise consumer awareness of chemical substances of concern;
•             raise awareness of suppliers of items and help them with their communication obligations;
•             facilitate discussion between consumers and suppliers of items;
•             facilitate the replacement of SVHCs present in items.

To achieve this, Ineris is carrying out two surveys:
- one for consumers, to obtain a better understanding of their requirements: click here to participate (takes less than 5 minutes).
- the other for businesses, to obtain a better understanding of their requirements and the way they manage the provision of information about substances in items: click here to participate.

All data will be collected on an anonymous basis and will only be used for the project.
