From 12 to 23 November 2018, Ineris, as part of its activities with Aquaref (National Reference Laboratory for Water Monitoring), held awareness days in Martinique and French Guiana with a view to applying the RSDE (Research for Dangerous Substances in Water) recommendations to waste water processing plants in overseas departments and regions (DROM).

These days, organised upon the request of DROM and the Ministry for Ecological and Solidary Transition, brought together around 30 project managers, operators and operatives responsible for taking samples.
The purpose of these days was to provide an update on the regulatory provisions of the recommendations, and to provide practical technical support for implementing the sampling of waste water, with a view to analysing macropollutants (suspended matter, chemical oxygen demand, etc.) and micropollutants (trace metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, etc.).
An operation of similar scope was carried out in Guadeloupe in June.
